No doubt, every country faces perplexing challenges; for it is inevitable, meaning it would be bound to happen. To focus on our country, the Philippines, the country experiences varied challenges - may it be in the economy, healthcare, politics, natural disasters, pollution, etc. The country is greatly prone to these natural disasters since the Philippines is located at the Pacific Ring of Fire. Being located in the said location results in frequent typhoons, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes. As for the economic issues, an example would be poverty; a significant percentage of the population lives below the poverty line. Pollution is also a challenge that the Philippines faces; these days, some people do not know how to segregate their trash appropriately which results in long-term threats and diseases. It is safe to conclude that most challenges that the country faces are due to man.
Filipinos are known to be strong-willed, whatever challenges they go through, they respond to these problems positively every with resilience. Filipinos are skilled in adapting, to whatever situation they go through. Also, during typhoons, they even swim through the accumulated flood, which depicts how they look at life with a positive outlook. We shouldn’t let out the fact that Filipinos are professionals in being resourceful. For instance, they heavily rely on traditional herbal medicines by utilizing plants and this comes in handy whenever a medicine shortage comes, or financial instability. Furthermore, there’s a culture that Filipinos value the most, called “Bayanihan”. During hard times, they don’t forget to help each other, so no one is brought down during Bayanihan.
No matter how dark the world could be, Filipinos always find light glaring through. I can confidently compare Filipinos to ants, specifically ant mentality. They help each other to satisfy their goals and needs, which is the same with Filipinos who form solidarity and promote patriotism. To end this on a good note, Filipinos are people who by heart, successfully adapt to unexpected and expected life challenges.
